Seth Holmes will receive the Honorable Mention Premio Iberoamericano Book Award from the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) this summer (2018). He is receiving this honorable mention for the Spanish version of his book, Fruta Fresca, Cuerpos Marchitos: Trabajadores agricolas migrantes en Estados Unidos.
"The Premio Iberoamericano is presented at each of LASA’s International Congresses for the outstanding book on Latin America in the social sciences and humanities published in Spanish or Portuguese in any country.
In 1991, the LASA Executive Council approved the creation of the Premio Iberoamericano. The procedures for naming the recipient were similar to those for the English language Bryce Wood Book Award. Books were to be judged on the quality of research, analysis and writing, and the significance of the contribution to Latin American studies."
