We are tremendously saddened at the loss of Berkeley Anthropology graduate alumna Dr. Kun Chen, who passed away in Beijing on October 13, 2015. Dr. Chen received her doctorate from UC Berkeley in 2011. She was embarking on a brilliant scholarly career as a faculty member in the Department of Geography and Anthropology at Cal Poly Pomona. Her colleagues have posted this note in tribute. We in the Department of Anthropology at Berkeley join Kun's friends, family, colleagues and students in remembering this young, vibrant, smart anthropologist with enormous respect and affection.
