Congratulations to Professor William White on receiving the Hellman Fellow Fund.

The award is in support of Professor White's research and his proposal, Digitizing Black Heritage through Collaborative Archaeology. The Hellman Fellows fund was created by a generous gift from the late Mr. F. Warren Hellman, adistinguished alumnus and friend of Cal, and his late wife Chris Hellman to support early career faculty who have shown evidence of their promise for distinction in research. Their children recently decided to expandthe program at Berkeley by creating an endowment and inviting other donors to participate, establishing the Society of Hellman Fellows.
