Bio:
I am a 7th year PhD candidate working in the California Archaeology Lab under Dr. Kent Lightfoot. As part of a collaborative project with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, my dissertation research focuses on the archaeology of indigenous management of marine resources on the central coast of California, applying archaeological data to inform and revitalize traditional ecological knowledge and stewardship of intertidal resources such as shellfish and seaweed. Through an holistic, integrative approach, I believe archaeology can and should be applied to contemporary issues such as coastal stewardship, indigenous food security and sovereignty, fisheries management, and restoration ecology.
