I am presently learning about expert communities involved in the "global" surveillance of avian influenza (H5N1). More specifically, I am exploring conditions of collaboration among institutional experts (i.e. World Health Organization) and non-institutional experts (i.e. amateur ornithologists) involved in the surveillance of migratory birds. I am presently focusing on events in Northern Nigeria.
